In order to attract greater foreign investment in production facilities and plants, the Burmese government has made rm plans to step up its supply of power as well as increase its distribution network into rural areas. As much as 1500 megawatts of power are expected to be added to the national power supply by 2015 in order to meet the expected increases in demand. Meanwhile, the country also faces a rising trend in the construction and building sector, which is set to lead to a natural increase in demand for electrical wiring, lighting, switching systems, components and installations.
